Circa 1890 - Petite Taupe Pearl Vintage Style Earrings

These are darling little earrings topped with a sweet, leaf-detailed, cap. Shown here in Classic Taupe, these little earrings feature lustrous South Sea shell pearls. South Sea shell pearls are lab-created from South Sea oyster shells. The center of the pearl starts with a clam shell, to which multiple layers of pulverized shell are applied. Using a heat treatment, and a special coating, the pearls are brought to a high luster. The result is a luxurious pearl at a fraction of the cost of genuine cultured pearls. These petite earrings measure 1 1/4 inches in length and the little pearls are 8 mm in size.
